Solar panels absorb photons from the sunlight and generates electricity. These electrons generate DC current.
This generated current travels through wires and charge controller and inverter, here it gets converted to AC current which is usable by the appliances.
Once the requirement is fulfilled the rest is transferred to the utility GRID which stores/distributes the excess. During nighttime/ cloudy days in the absence of solar energy generation the
loads import the banked electricity from the GRID. A bidirectional meter is used to ascertain the difference between this import and export of energy.
